What is Equitable TOD?

TOD is a planning and development practice for building walkable, opportunity-rich communities connected to high capacity public transit. The intent of equitable TOD is to create safe, convenient, accessible and equitable environments for walking, bicycling and using public transit that also connects low-income people to opportunity. 

Why Equitable TOD is Important

Equitable TOD helps build vibrant, safe and livable communities, supporting traditional neighborhood design by bringing people closer to the places and things they want to do every day. These neighborhoods provide a lifestyle that’s convenient, affordable and active, and creates places where children can play and parents can grow old comfortably.
